Peace Corps annual Picnic and Send Off & Welcome Back Ceremony

at Terhune Orchards, June 4, 2017, 12-3 p.m.

Past, present and future Peace Corps Volunteers are invited to the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of New Jersey Family Picnic on June 4, 2017, 12-3 p.m. Peace Corps volunteers from North and South Jersey are welcome at this potluck event. Volunteers will gather to share stories, learn about Volunteer experiences, and celebrate those preparing to depart for assignments overseas.

The picnic will be held rain or shine at Terhune Orchards, 330 Cold Soil Rd., Princeton. Tables & chairs will be available in a large open barn- no need to bring your own. Please bring some food and/or non-alcoholic beverage to share. Ethnic dishes from the location you volunteered for the Peace Corps are encouraged. Crockpots and warming trays etc. can be plugged in but no grilling will be available. Please note: No pets, no smoking & no alcohol on the farm.

Prospective volunteers, those who have been invited to join the Peace Corps and are preparing to serve as well as newly returned volunteers are welcome too. RPCV’s from anywhere in NJ and surrounding areas are welcome. Family and friends are welcome, too. A children’s activity area, barnyard animals and seasonal farm activities will be open for family fun.

A Send Off & Welcome Back Celebration will be held to share their Peace Corps story with others, particularly those who are soon leaving for their Peace Corps service, and celebrate the service Peace Corps volunteers have done and continue to do. An "Around the World" displays of items from various Countries of Service will be set up.

Register online for the event.
