Lawrence Township Community Foundation Awards $26K in Grants to Community Organizations

The Lawrence Township Community Foundation  (LTCF) held a presentation ceremony on Thursday May 11, 2017 at the Lawrence Nature Center to award twelve local nonprofit organizations funds for important community programs.

Lawrence Township Community Foundation funds projects that impact the quality of life and well being of the residents of Lawrence Township. LTCF offers grants in the spring and fall to nonprofit organizations based in Lawrence Township in the following categories: Arts & Humanities; Health, Wellness and Seniors, Community Development and Enrichment; Sustainability and Enrichment; Youth Programs; and Emergency Support.

Completely run by volunteers, LTCF is supported by three major funders - Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Educational Testing Service and the Lawrenceville School. The Foundation also receives personal donations from Lawrence citizens and businesses. All projects funded through the LTCF will directly benefit Lawrence Township and its residents.

Since forming in 2002, LTCF has distributed grants totaling more than $950,000 to organizations that benefit Lawrence residents of all ages. Through the generosity of sponsors and donors, many innovative programs developed by non-profit organizations are brought to life to serve the people of our community.  Programs supported by the Foundation’s spring 2017 grant cycle include youth mentoring, camp scholarships, support services for women and children, senior programs, volunteer programs and more.

Rachel Cantlay, board president of LTCF said, “As always, we are delighted to support these great organizations.  Tonight we heard about the variety of ways our community benefits from these programs, from services for kids, families, senior citizens and the entire community.  We really enjoy celebrating these groups at out Grants Award Ceremony."
