: Tony Auth, Digital Artist in Residence at WHYY’s NewsWorks.org
Sacred Cows Make the Best Hamburger: A political cartoonists observations of the absurdities and ridiculousness of the past several years.

Tony began his drawing career as a medical illustrator after receiving a degree in biological illustration from UCLA in 1965. During this time he began doing political cartoons, first for a weekly alternative paper and then three times a week for UCLA's Daily Bruin.

In 1971, Tony was hired as the political cartoonist for The Philadelphia Inquirer. He remained with the paper for 41 years. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1976 and was a finalist in 2010.

To broaden his range of commentary, he became the first Digital Artist in Residence at WHYY’s NewsWorks.org.

Throughout his career, Tony has published two collections of his workd and illustrated 11 children's books.

Over the course of his career, Auth has won many awards, including five Overseas Press Club Awards, the Sigma Delta Chi award for distinguished service in journalism, the Thomas Nast Prize, the Herblock Prize, in addition to the Pulitzer Prize.
